center of tech

- KarthiK KulKarni
I happened to meet and see some of the very talented and intelligent techies in SUN, although I was not able to take direct technical benefit from them, I did benefit myself with the inspirational touch whenever I interacted with them.
This was my last mail to Ganesh, manager for the SUN Campus Ambassador program , Asia-Pacific. I was feeling very disappointed that these wonderful 2 years with sun were about to set. I was with the mixed feelings of happiness & a bit of guilt because although I had a glorious first year of ambassadorship, the second year was not so eventful, we had software freedom week 2008 & a Java FX workshop and those were the only 2 major events for SUN. I was held up into many engagements in my final year of engineering. It was a bit disappointing at the end that Ganesh never replied to my last mail, he was the man who had encouraged so much to each of mails & reports and motivated throughout my journey with SUN. I am not sure of the reason for that but whatever it is I am very thankful to him and the SUN CA program.
Dear Ganesh,
It was a great opportunity to be the part of the SUN CA program, I sincerely thank you for this.
It was indeed an honor to shoulder the responsibility of technology evangelism at this young age.
The very fact of being a part of sun was of great weight in my curriculum vitae and it did help me a lot in my recruitment in Novellus Systems. It also provided me a platform to showcase my leadership & organizational skills in the campus with this platform I was able to win the title of the Best Outgoing Student of 2009 BVBCET batch & the IEEE Best Student branch award. I wish and hope that this program benefits many ambitious students like me forever, I wish SUN CA program a long life.I would love to be a part of this program once again in my life if I do my masters, please help me out then.
My heartfelt thanks to Rajesh whom I did trouble a lot with my periodic requests that took great efforts from his side, he was indded a good friend rather than a coordinator. Vijaya Madam was very caing and supporting to me solving all my problems that I landed into, I will miss her and her goodies a lot!
I did try to initiate opensource enthusiasm in and around our campus, I do not know if I stood up to your expectations but I did try my level best. I apologise for anything and every thing that was disliked by you. I really admire your unique way of criticizing the mistakes - gentle but yet so strong
My sincere thanks to Prof B.L.Desai sir for supporting me through out, It would have been impossible to do any bit of my job without him. He has been my overall mentor in all the aspects. I owe a lot to him & to this program.
I am leaving to Los Angeles on 23rd June to attend the IEEE Honors ceremony to receive the IEEE Presidents’ award on behalf of our team for our hobby projects for the physically & mentally disabled children. These projects that we did were based on the GoGo board that I had proposed.
